About

Hi, I’m Michael I’m the owner of Taylor-Tech. We launched our company formally in October of 2019. I’m so proud of our clients and the differences they make for their employees, employees families, the customers they work with, and the larger communities they serve. So my story goes like this I graduated from the community college in 2004 started work at a large local hospital in the IT dept. the same month. During my time there I learned many things. Some things that stick out are Integrity, Communication, and the importance of good usable backups. My main responsibility was backups and desk side support. I left there and went to a smaller hospital which had a tiny IT staff in 2009 this gave me the opportunity to have hands on with all of the inter-workings and how IT directly impacts work flow. While at the smaller hospital I implemented a new enterprise wide Anti-virus and helped meet phase1 requirements of the Affordable Care Act. My areas of responsibility here was broad I managed servers network components like firewalls and switches, and continued to provide desktop support. I routinely met with nursing leadership, CEO, CFO, vendors, and other IT staff to move from conceptual ideas, to proof of concept, to beta testing, and ultimately enterprise wide implementation. There were many lessons learned here as well but most importantly project management and how to ask for help from relationships I’ve made throughout my career. In 2012 I left healthcare and went into the public sector. I have managed two projects in my current roll first was a enterprise wide phone system installation. My 2nd project I was able to be at the helm of an enterprise wide Wi-Fi project. We fork-lifted our old system (Approximately 50 Access points) and replaced it to include upgrades and massive additions (Approximately 110 Access points). I continue to manage the WI-FI daily. Recently my focus has shifted to infrastructure best practices, network segmentation, and network security.
